Writing is hard, but getting people to read it is harder. I like to do both, to varying degrees, and thus have migrated my musings all across social media and the larger blogosphere in search of a readership of any size. Those journeys have led me here, to Substack, where I’ll give it a go for a while. Will it last? That’s the fun part: we all get to find out together.

I’m a lifelong lister and writer, increasingly trying to break into the (very well-fortified!) field of longer-form criticism about movies, television, et al. I’ve had some success and a lot of failures (no links), but here I am, still going. Despite my obvious pretensions, I really do believe everyone should watch and read and listen to and talk about what they like, no matter its artistic credibility, and this is just me doing that. I hope you’ll join me!
